Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 133
It was a spooktacular night for some trivia, as we celebrated Halloween and Day of the Dead all in one! Thanks for being a part of the amazing trivia community we have built!
Before I give you the full rundown of the season leaderboard (because like a lemonade stand at the county fair… there are some SHAKE UPS)… let’s recap this week’s episode.
In episode 133, we honored some celebrities who have passed in 2022, played some “ghoulish” tunes, and masked up for safety with some villain inspired face-masks. We also had a round all about tricks and treats, that includes a (mostly) fan favorite: SINK or FLOAT.
Atop the weekly scoreboard were two teams tied for first place: This Is How We Know We're Petty! Petti! Petté and The Re-Trivia-ers. They both scored 94 points! WAY TO GO! The Brochuters +1 were just one point behind in 3rd, making it an extremely close match!
We’re Just Guessing are the front-runners for the “most improved” award this season, coming in 4th this week! They were also the winners of our special Halloween “Treat” prize after living up to their team name and guessing the jack-o-lantern that was the prize winner on the very first guess! I really expected that activity to last longer… but not when We’re Just Guessing just guesses it right away. Congratulations! 🎃
Not only was the weekly scoreboard a tie, but there was also a tie for “The Alex Award” this week, as three teams guessed the same wrong answer that Alex deemed his favorite. During this week’s music round I selected a variety of songs that had the words “girl” or “girls” in the title and I asked you to change the title to swap out the word “ghoul”. For example, we had “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Big Ghouls Don’t Cry”. I picked 10 songs that made me giggle when swapping in “ghouls”. Well, there were two teams that guessed that one of the songs was “I Kissed a Ghoul (and I liked it)”… and honestly, I am shocked that I didn’t think to include that one! 💋👻 It made both Alex and I giggle so congrats to Jeremy Bearimy, Crazy Tiger Bitches, and Making Good Answers for splitting the win on the The Alex Award this week.
Also, our random wheel spin of the week went to Jeremy Bearimy! They win an additional entry for our end-of-season prizes during the Season Finale episode on November 22. Each teams total count for prize wheel slots can be found in the last column of the season scoreboard below. Thank you, Jeremy Bearimy for your consistent attendance, and support of TTWM!
Now, its time to talk the season leaderboard… because it is 🔥!
With it being the 8th episode of the season, this is the first week where a teams lowest score could be dropped, if they have played all eight weeks. This has certainly shaken things up. TTWM veterans Crazy Tiger Bitches and The Re-Trivia-ers both missed weeks early on in the season, so this was their seventh week. Now with seven scores, they have bumped up into the top tier of the leaderboard… but it still was not enough to dethrone the leaders, Brochuters +1! The top three are all within 10 points of each other, and with 740 possible points, it is mind-boggling that it could be this close!
When you take a look at the season leaderboard, you will find that I have grayed-out and struck-through the lowest score of teams who have played more than seven games (and removed it from the spreadsheet formula to not be calculated). This means moving through the next three weeks, if you played seven games or more, your season score will never go down.
It’s only up from here for the next three weeks!
Speaking of going up… get ready for your score to go UP next week, as it is ⏬DOUBLE DOWN WEEK⏬! It is the last one of the Fall Season, so don’t miss your opportunity to add 20 extra points to your score (and help eliminate one of your lower scores of the season!).
Also mark your calendars for Episode 136 on November 22. It is our🌟FALL SEASON FINALE!🌟 It will be a jam packed show where we will play five rounds of trivia and then immediately add those scores to our season scoreboard… and then crown our champions! We will also give out our end of season random wheel prizes, so you will definitely want to be there. Mark your calendars! In fact, if you’d like to really add it to your digital calendar, you can visit the event post and there is an option for “Google Calendar” or “ICS” where you can add it right to your calendar!
