Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 132

With our new season format, tonight’s seventh episode means that those teams that have played all seven episodes have an official season score that can never go lower than what it is right now! Thank you to the eight teams who haven’t missed an episode yet. It (literally) can only go up from here! Moving forward, any teams that log more than seven scores will have their lowest scores dropped. Things are about to get INTERESTING!
One important scoring update for Episode 132: There was a miscommunication between Alex and I with the question about Steve Martin and Martin Short. Teams were supposed to get two points per name (four total points) for a correct answer and I didn’t make that clear to Alex so he only gave everyone 2 points for the whole answer. So that changed almost everyone’s scores from what I announced live. Yay for more points! There were two other isolated corrections as well that may have shifted your placement a spot. Thanks, as always, for bearing with us as we score on the fly!
The Brochuters +1 continue to reign atop the season leaderboard with 663 points (congrats!). This Is How We Know We're Petty! Petti! Petté have taken over the second place spot on the podium (*high five*), and the next three teams are only separated by a point: Three Halves of a Whole Idiot (626), Threat Level Midday (625) and The Uneducated (625). It is honestly so exciting to update the scoreboard every week!
During this week’s show we celebrated the birthday of Marty from Hot Ass Soup (who unfortunately weren’t there to see the round, but I hope it was because you were out celebrating!). It also happened to be the week of my dad’s birthday (his name was also Marty, coincidentally!). 💜 To celebrate them both, we had a whole round of Martins! We also celebrated the life of Leslie Jordan with a round of other celebrities who were short in stature but big in talent. Leslie Jordan sure did bring a lot of joy to people through his whole life, but especially during the pandemic. He deserves celebration. 🙏
Our top team of the week are the Crafty Tiger Bitches! 🏆 They missed just two questions all night long. WELL DONE!
I also want to give a shout out to We’re Just Guessing who guessed their way to a second place finish tonight! 🥈 Their first 90+ score of the season (during a regular non-double down week). BRAVO!
It’s time for The Alex Award for the worst/funniest wrong answer of the night. And for the first time of the season, we have a back-to-back winner of the award. During the Common Bond round that featured answers with silent first letters, one of the questions was about a pterodactyl skeleton that was found in Scotland. This team couldn’t come up with Pterodactly, but they did figure out the silent first letters bond, so their guess was “Wholly Mammoth”. Just saying “Holy Mammoth” out loud makes me giggle. 🤣 Congratulations to Threat Level Midday! Thanks for the laugh! We enjoyed it so much, that I had to do a little photoshopping to create what I see in my mind when I hear “wholly mammoth”:
If Alex can have his own award, I want one of my own for this week. I’m calling it the “YAAASSSS Award” for a wrong answer that made me literally say “YAAASSSS” outloud. Central Adams had an incorrect guess for the Nelly Furtado song in this week’s show, but their guess was for the song “There’s Gotta Be More To Life” by Stacie Orrico, which I haven’t heard in YEARS. It made me immediately look it up and listen to it… so thank you, Central Adams!
Our random wheel spin of the week went to last week’s champs, Making Good Happen! They win an additional entry for our end-of-season prizes during the Season Finale episode on November 22. giving them an additional slot on our end of the season prize wheel! They are the first team to repeat as winners of the random spin this season! Each teams total count for prize wheel slots can be found in the last column of the season scoreboard below.
