Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 131
I had to start this recap off with a GIF because this was literally my face and reaction last night after updating the season scoreboard. Things are HEATING. UP.
The Brochuters +1 are still the current leaders with 573 points, where they have been since the start of the season (way to go!)… but after that, it gets real interesting! The next four teams are now all separated by just two points: Hot Ass Soup (543), Three Halves of a Whole Idiot (542), This Is How We Know We're Petty! Petti! Petté (541), and Threat Level Midday (541)! Like LC above: WHOA!
That doesn’t even take into consideration the other teams further down the leaderboard who are definitely within striking distance (especially once we start dropping the lowest scores beyond week 7). I am seriously so giddy with excitement! 😁
I had a BLAST hosting this week’s show. We had the opportunity to celebrate Lori from team Jeremy Bearimy on her actual birthday with a round of things rhyming with “Lori” (I hope you enjoyed it!). We also paid tribute to two celebrities who recently passed: Angela Lansbury and Robbie Coltrane. International Day of the Nacho inspired a round of nacho-topping-anagrams, and I tested your video game knowledge with an audio-visual round with both audio and visuals! The Uneducated’s persistence in asking for that video game song round paid off, and their high score in that round helped them to a second place finish!🎮👾
But, this week’s victors were Making Good Answers! 🏆 Tonight they had the right mix of of knowledge to make it to the top of the leaderboard, with consistently high scores in every round (and two perfect scores in rounds four and five). Congrats!
Further down the weekly scoreboard, the teams from second place to tenth place all had scores in the 80-point range, proving just how smart all of you are! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… the score column is much more important than the rank column! It’s quite amazing just how closely matched our teams are.
I’d like to give Alex a quick shoutout… because this week there were no adjustments in the scores that were announced and the final scores I am reporting here! He really does such a fantastic job, and I couldn’t do this without him. It really should be “Tuesday Trivia with Matt & Alex” (but he would hate that, so its not. 😝)
Whenever I host an anagram round it is fun to go back and read the incorrect answers that our teams come up with. The nacho-themed anagram round gave us our winners of this week’s “Alex Award” for the funniest wrong answer. The winners are Threat Level Midday! I asked for an anagrammed nacho topping from the letters LIT ACORN. The answer was “CILANTRO”. I am guessing they saw the letters of the word CORN and just couldn’t get it out of their minds, because their final answer was CORN TAIL. 🤣 It was a great attempt! I love a corny answer! 🌽

Also, congratulations to Crafty Tiger Bitches for winning our random wheel spin of the week, giving them an additional slot on our end of the season prize wheel! They are the first team to repeat as winners of the random spin this season! Each teams total count for prize wheel slots can be found in the last column of the season scoreboard below.
The coming weeks of TTWM are going to be quite exciting!
Next week is Episode 132 which is the seventh episode of the fall season! With season scores determined by your team’s top seven weekly scores, that means that it will be the last week before lowest scores start being dropped for teams have played every week!
Episode 133 on November 1 will be our special Trick or Treat Trivia episode with fun Halloween themed rounds (and I will be giving out a special weekly prize that week!)
