Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 228
For me, episode 228 was cathartic. I needed the love, the community, the joy, and I hope that you felt a little of it too. 💙
This week we celebrated a bunch of random holidays including Guinness Book of World Records Day, National Drummers Day, and World Kindness Day. We also celebrated Ryan Gosling’s 44th birthday with a round of his movie posters covered by baby geese. 🪿 It was silly and random… but a whole lot of fun.
There were some adjustments to the scores this week, which included more points for every team! (Alex missed a column that was an answer that every team had correct… so YAY for more points!) Also, after a successful rebuttal from Central Adams regarding the bridge vs. tunnel world record question, I ended up giving every team that put “bridge” one point (instead of zero).
One question that we also received an official rebuttal about was the audio clue for “marimba” that some teams felt that “vibraphone” should have been accepted. I did some research and listened to some marimbas and vibraphones as compared to the clip that I played for you… and Alex and I agree that there is a clear difference between the woody tones of the marimba and the metal tones of the vibraphone, so we are sticking with our correct answer of marimba. Speaking of the percussion audio round, two different teams had funny answers that earn them a co-victory for this week’s presentation of “The Alex Award”. First, Alex was not sure if it was an intentional misspelling of “bongos” just to get a giggle, but Just Neighbors got a laugh out Alex for their answer of “Bangos”. 🤣 Also, a team that followed the rules of giving an answer that started with the first letters provided was team Go Us. For the clip where the correct answer was “vibraslap”, they guessed “big rattlesnake”… and really, you’re not wrong! It is quite accurate!
After the adjustments were made, here are the podium teams for Episode 228:
🥇 Jeremy Bearimy clinched the top spot by just one point, finishing with 110!
🥈 Crafty Tiger Bitches were just a one drumbeat behind with 109 with a great score in second place.
🥉 Third place belongs to Thots and Prayers this week, tying their highest score for the whole season! Way to go!
🏅 And finishing in fourth place is Trivia Spice with 101!
Adding those scores to the leaderboard has shaken things up! Crafty Tiger Bitches has moved up into second place and Thots and Prayers have moved up to fifth! With shows left before we crown our winners, will more shakeups happen? Tune in to find out!
