Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 170

I love that I was able to do a whole round about viral YouTube videos, and that y’all crushed it.
I love that the Internet brings us together every week for 170 episodes of Tuesday Trivia with Matt! 💜
For week three of the Fall League we had 13 teams competing, and we had our first PERFECT SCORE of the season! 🤩
Speaking of perfect, Alex gets another gold star this week, because after double-checking every rounds answer forms, the results announced live were confirmed to be correct. There was a question about whether “Sugar Smacks” would be accepted for “Honey Smacks”, so I did some further research. Dig ‘Em Frog became the mascot in 1972 and the cereal was known as Sugar Smacks at that time, until it changed names in the 80’s… so YES, everyone that put Sugar Smacks also received points for a correct answer. Alex already included those points in his live scoring, so it didn’t change any outcomes.

Time for this week’s “Alex Award” for Alex’s favorite wrong answer of the week. First off, Alex wanted to thank all of the teams who during our “sorry” themed music round, put on their answer formr “I’m sorry I don’t know this one” or “Sorry for not knowing the answer”. Several of you put variations of that and deserve a gold star for effort and for politeness! 🤣
But this week’s official winner comes from the round that featured celebrities with animals in their name (like Tiger Woods, Megan Fox, Sheryl Crow, etc.). The final question about about a band member whose group was just featured on the web series Hot Wings and had a new single coming out. I was going for the correct answer of “Lance Bass” from *NSYNC, but one team put in a good guess with “Travis BARKer”. Actually the full answer submitted was “Travis BARKer WOOF”, and we are not sure if that was meant as a dog noise or as a “WOOF” reaction to their punny joke… but either way our winners of the Alex award this week are the Jenison Jeniuses! 🐶
