Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 230: Season FINALE!

Season Three of the Fall Trivia League is officially in the books! A big THANK YOU to all 22 teams who participated at some point during the season and the 16 teams to participated in our season finale show. I truly appreciate all of you! 💜

We started the episode with a celebration of the release of Wicked with a round of movies turned into musicals and musicals turned into movies. Next, we drilled deep into your musical knowledge with a common bond round where all the songs had something to do with dentistry (because it was episode tooth-hurty 🤣). And in round three, we brought to life a fun round suggestion from a team about memorable final lines from movies.

My favorite rounds of the episode were four and five. In round four, we took a stroll down memory lane and revisited some of the round themes we had each week of the season and I asked you a question that could have been asked during each episode, but wasn’t (until now). We ended the season on a hilarious note by asking you to figure out which two team names I asked generative AI to mash up into one image. It sounds pretty easy… just let AI do all the work, right? Not quite. It took a lot of finessing and matching just the right two teams together to get an image that accurately depicted both. Plus, I had to remove any of the words in the images to not make them super obvious. I shared some of the “bloopers” to a friend the day after the finale, and she said “you’ve got to share these with everyone!”… so here are some of the outtakes of images that were not used. See if you can figure out which two team names were mashed up for these images!

Before we move on to our season winners, let’s first take a moment to recognize the four teams that made the podium for this show, Episode 230:

🥇 Just Neighbors ended with a season high score of 121 out of 122 (thanks to an extra question in round five this week), missing only one point the whole episode! BRAVO!
🥈 Crafty Tiger Bitches earned second place, tying their highest score for the season with 117!
🥉 Thots and Prayers earned third place with their highest score of the season, 113!
🏅 And finishing in fourth place is Central Adams just one point shy of the bronze with 112. Great job!

With episode 230 complete, we added the scores to the season leaderboard (dropped lowest scores, as appropriate) and we had our SEASON THREE WINNERS! (Full leaderboard can be seen below!)

Congrats to these teams who reigned supreme at the top of the leaderboard:

🥇 Jeremy Bearimy with 797 points! Our champions this year are Jeremy Bearimy! After being narrowly edged off the podium by one excruciating point in Season 2, Jeremy Bearimy broadened their team, showed up every week with amazing scores, and it all paid off! Congrats on being the Season Three Champions! Jeremy Bearimy wins a $100 donation to a charity or organization they care about, and they chose the ACLU. Thank you, and JOB WELL DONE to Chuck, Lori, Shannon, Emery and Chris!

🥈 Just Neighbors with 794 points! After missing the first two weeks of the season (and giving other teams a bit of hope that they might be taking this season off!), our reigning gold medalists from Season 1 and Season 2 popped back in mid-season and earned themselves second place in Season 3. Great job to all of you: Shelley, Becky, Candace, Ryan and Chris! Just Neighbors have chosen Children’s Hospital of West Michigan for their $75 donation!

🥉 Crafty Tiger Bitches with 790 points! CTB’s get to add another podium ornament to their collection, this time a bronze for Season Three! They can also put a feather in their cap for being the team with the highest lowest score of the season, never scoring lower than a 107 out of 120 all season. WHEW! That is pretty incredible! Jean, Erin and Matt chose for their $50 donation to go to Toni and Trish House. Well done!

🏅 Central Adams with 777 points! Finishing in lucky fourth place is Central Adams: Joe, Sean, Lillie, Zach, Lauren, and Matt. This is their first season podium appearance, moving up from 9th and 11th places in Seasons 1 and 2. If we had a little league style “most improved” trophy, it would certainly go to you! Central Adams also had perfect attendance this season, and had a very strong final episode score! They chose for their $25 winning donation to go to Gigi’s Playhouse.

Scroll through the gallery below to see the teams who participated in the finale, and be sure to read the captions to see the amazing charities/organizations that each chose to support. 💜

Some more recognition to give out:

  • Clickity Clackity Crustaceans were selected by Alex to win “The Alex Award” for the season for their answer in week one of “Skkaarrssggaarrdd”. 🤣 For that silly answer, they won a silly prize: the “World’s Smallest Trivial Pursuit” game and a TTWM glass ornament!

  • We also spun the random prize wheel five times to give five other teams prizes to thank them for participating in the season.

    • Three Halves of a Whole Idiot won a $25 to the Human Rights Campaign

    • Thots and Prayers chose a $25 donation to Planned Parenthood

    • Clickity Clackity Crustaceans and Jenison Jeniuses & Friend both chose a set of new TTWM can-shaped glasses with glittery straws

    • Go Us won a set of new TTWM can koozies!

  • And I’d also like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all the teams who had perfect attendance and attended all 11 episodes of the season! Jeremy Bearimy, Central Adams, High School Musical: TMTSTTN, Three Halves of a Whole Idiot, Trivia Spice, Allll Byyyy Myselffff + Mom, and Jenison Jeniuses & Friend. Thank you!
